No-cost Bingo Games for Teaching Numbers
For some children, the teenage numbers can be confusing - 12? 13? 14? 15 .... At age 4 or 5, children tend to start learning numbers larger that ten. It is difficult to remember because there are two numbers that are outliers (11/12). Teen bingo is an excellent way to teach teens number while having fun.
Teen Numbers
We include all numbers between 10 to 20 when we discuss teen numbers. It can be hard for young children to remember the numbers 10 through 12, as they don't include 'teens' in their names. A ten frame, pennies, and dimes are all options. It is helpful to have your child practice counting from 1-20 frequently, especially if there is a number line or chart that you can use to count.
The trick is to keep practicing and repeating the numbers until the kids get it. I don’t know about you but counting 20 multiple times a day can become tedious. You can play games instead of counting. Teen bingo is one of my favorites!
Bingo for Teens
Bingo is a popular game among children. It's also a great way for parents to reinforce their teen numbers. The rules of bingo are the same as regular bingo.
You will need to print the same amount of cards for each child. So each child has their own board. Print the Bingo boards on card stock for extra durability.
Also, print out number cards. These are numbers you'll call out to your kids to match. These numbers can be used to shuffle or in a bowl to make a drawing. You'll also need calling cards to keep track the numbers called.
Once you're done, you can either take the top card out of the stack or remove it from the bowl. Your children will read the teen number loudly to you. They will place a bingo marker onto the board that matches their number.
Bingo markers can be made from game chips, raisins, or pom poms. Clear page protectors can be used to protect the boards. You can also use a dry erase marker to mark numbers when they are read aloud. 600 Number Bingo Game
